Risk Continental Game Rules (Risk Parker Brothers)

Risk Parker Brothers, known as the Risk Continental game, is a classic board game that contains diplomacy, conflict, and conquest. The Continental version of Risk is a strategic game of global domination that can be played with 2 to 6 players, where each player sets up the game and takes turns placing one infantry troop in an empty territory on the board.

The game involves getting bonus troops for managing continents and trading by using specific sets of cards. The players can also attack and capture territories by rolling dice and choosing one of their starting territories to be their capital.

One interesting aspect of the game is that a player is eliminated if, at the end of their turn, they do not control their capital territory. Neutral territories do not count directly towards victory, but players may still decide to capture them to create a buffer zone or to gain access to resources. The battle can be organized by rolling the dice, and players may defend their position or end an attack at any time.

The game is more challenging, with continent bonuses that players can earn. The bonuses are proportional to the continent’s size follows as: 2 troops for Australia or South America, 3 for Africa, 5 for North America or Europe, and 7 for Asia.

How to Play Risk Continental Game

The overall mission of the game Risk is to conquer the world by eliminating your opponents and ruling all territories on the board. The game is played on a board that consists of several distinct territories that are divided into six continents. 

Taking Turns

At the beginning of the game, each player picks a color and takes the matching army pieces. The game board can be set on a flat surface, and the risk cards are arranged face down in the center of the board as a draw pile. 

Then, every player will place their army piece on an empty territory until all territories are occupied. Once they have finished, players take turns placing their remaining armies in their territories.

Attacking Territories

The players can attack other territories by rolling dice and comparing the results, moving armies between their territories, or trading risk cards for further armies. Attacking is a major phase of the game, and to do so, you can choose a territory to attack from and surround enemy territory.

Rolling Dice

The dice is rolled to figure out the outcome of the battle. The attacker rolls a maximum of three dice, while the defender rolls a maximum of two dice. The higher number wins, and the losing player loses one army. 

If the attacker wins, they can pick to continue attacking or stop. If they continue, they can attack the remaining armies in the attacking territory. When the defender wins, the attacker loses one army and must decide whether to continue attacking or retreat. 

Fortifying

After attacking, you can select to move armies from one of your territories to another adjacent territory you control. This is called fortifying and can only be done once per turn. The movement must be from one territory to another that shares a border. 

Risk Cards

Risk cards are earned by successfully conquering a territory, and they can be traded in for additional armies during your turn if you have a matching set or a wildcard. The number of armies you receive for trading in Risk cards increases with each set traded. 

Winning

The game continues until one player holds all the territories on the boardThe Risk Continents & Bonuses by claiming all other players’ territories. With strategy, luck, and a bit of risk-taking, you can become the ultimate conqueror and win the game.
