The card games residents and Assholes, also known as Asshole, is an entertaining and popular card game that aims to quickly eliminate all the cards in your hand. The game is typically played with 4 to 7 people using a standard 52-card deck.

The idea of playing the Asshole game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards and avoid becoming the Asshole. The player left holding their cards when every other player has discarded theirs is known as “The Asshole” and is given a penalty.

Rules to Play the Asshole Game

The rules for playing Asshole are simple: the first person who plays all of their cards wins the round and serves as president. The remaining players are assigned a social rank in the order in which they run out of cards. The last person to leave with any of the cards is identified as the “Asshole” and is given a penalty.

How to Play Asshole Card Game

To play the Asshole, pick up a standard deck of playing cards and remove the jokers. Decide on the initial dealer, which can be done by any agreed-upon method, such as drawing cards or rotating the dealer position clockwise.

The dealer shuffles the deck and deals all the cards face-down to the players. The number of cards dealt to each player depends on the number of players: 4 players receive 13 cards each, 5 players receive 10 cards each, and 6 players receive 8 cards each.

Start playing the Game

The player to the left of the dealer goes first, and the play proceeds clockwise. On each turn, you must play one or more cards of the same rank (e.g., three 4s or a single 3). The rank of the cards played must be higher than the rank of the previously played cards. If you cannot play any cards, you must pass your turn. The next player, in turn, must play cards of equal or higher rank than the previous player. If they cannot, they must pass as well.

Taking Turns

The game continues in this manner, with players either playing cards or passing, until no one can play any more cards. Once all players have passed, the player who played the last cards starts a new round by playing any card or set of cards of their choice.

Matching Cards

A single card is knocked down by any higher single card, and a set of cards can only be taken out by a higher set containing the same number of cards.

Becoming the Asshole

The last player to be left with any cards is known as the “Asshole” and may be given a penalty, depending on the variations of the game being played.

Scoring and Winning

The first player who is out of cards is awarded the highest social rank, such as “President” or “King,” and the next player is the “Vice President” or “Minister,” and so on. The player who successfully gets rid of all their cards first is declared the winner, and the last remaining player is declared an Asshole.
