Skip Bo

Skip-Bo is a popular card game invented by Minnie Hazel “Skip” Bowman, in 1967, that is played with a specially designed deck of 162 cards. In 1980, International Games purchased Skip-Bo and in 1992 Mattel bought International Games, making Skip-Bo a part of the Mattel family.

The game intends to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in their stockpile where players take turns playing cards from their hands onto building piles in numerical sequence. A Skip Bo deck has 162 cards, including 144 cards numbered 1 to 12 and 18 Skip Bo Cards, which are wild and can be used for any card.

To start a building pile in the center of the play area or to play brown town on top of a numbered card, you can use a Skip-Bo card. However, you can’t play two Skip-Bo cards in a row. Also, it is important to note that you always have to cover a Skip-Bo card with a number card after playing it.
