Solitaire is a card game you can play with a standard 52-card deck. It is also known as patience, klondike, or cable, depending on the region and the variation. The goal is to sort the cards into four piles by suit and rank, from ace to king. You start by dealing out seven columns of cards, called the tableau, and turning over the top card of each column. You can move cards from the tableau to the foundations, the four empty spaces above the tableau, following the suit and rank order.
You can also move cards from the tableau to another column if the card is one rank lower and of the opposite color than the top card of the destination column. You can draw new cards from the stock, the remaining cards that are not in the tableau, and place them on the waste pile, where you can use the top card. You win the game when you have moved all the cards to the foundations.
