UNO Attack

Uno Attack is a popular variation of the classic Uno card game, developed by Mattel and introduced by Jeffrey Breslow in 1998 and comes with a mechanical card launcher and a total of 112 cards. Unlike the original game, players press a button on the card launcher instead of drawing cards. The launcher then shoots out a random number of cards at random intervals.

The Uno Attack set consists of 112 cards as numbered from 1 to 9 (18 of each in Blue Green, Red, and Yellow), 8 Hit 2 cards (2 each in blue, green, red, and yellow), 4 Reverse cards (1 each in blue, green, red, and yellow), 8 Skip cards (2 each in blue, green, red, and yellow), 8 Discard All cards (2 each in blue, green, red, and yellow), 4 Wild cards, 4 Wild Attack cards, 3 Wild Customizable cards, and the Card Launcher.

Uno Attack works like the classic Uno game, but the Card Launcher holds the Draw Pile. When a player has to draw a card, they press the button on the launcher. However, the launcher doesn’t always shoot out cards.

Sometimes no cards come out, other times a few cards do, and sometimes a lot of cards do. Every time the button is pressed, the lights on the launcher flash and sounds are heard. If no cards come out, the lights and sounds pulse faster and faster each time until the cards finally launch. The player who presses the button must add the cards to their hand.

Uno Attack can be played as a challenge. To play this way, players keep a running total of the points each player has in their hand. Once a player reaches a designated amount, typically 500, they are eliminated from the game. When there are only two players left, they play head-to-head. In this case, the winner of the final hand is declared the winner of the game.

To set up the game, first, select a dealer who shuffles the deck and deals seven cards to each player. Then, place one card from the deck on the playing area to begin a DISCARD pile. Next, load the remaining cards into the launcher. To do this, open the door on top of the unit lift the lever inside insert the cards facedown underneath the lever, and close the launcher door until it snaps.

Turn the ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the launcher to “ON” and turn the launcher toward the player to the left of the dealer. During play, rotate the launcher so that it always faces the player whose turn it is. If the unit is inactive for five minutes, it will go to sleep. To wake it up, press the button once.

In Uno Attack, the winner is the first player to reach 500 points. Alternatively, the game can be scored by keeping a running total of the points each player has in their hand. When one player reaches 500 points, the player with the lowest points is declared the winner.
