The UNO Reflex is a variation of a classical UNO game, where players compete to match the colored light in Reflex and Wild mode. In Reflex mode, players race to play the color first. In Wild mode, players use their skills to select the color they want.
UNO Reflex Rules
To play the game, the primary goal is for the player to be the first to eliminate all their cards in each round and earn points for the cards their opponents still have. The player who reaches 500 points first wins when all rounds finish and points are calculated.
Here are some rules for UNO Reflex:
- When the button is pressed, only one light will be displayed.
- The next player in line is supposed to play the color that is shown by the light.
- The light can be turned off before the next play by pressing the button again.
- Before the button is pressed, the next player should draw 4 cards if a player plays a Wild Draw 4 Card.
UNO Reflex Cards
The reflex version of the UNO deck contains 108 cards, the same as the standard UNO, but with the addition of the UNO Reflex™ Button Electronic Unit with Reflex and Wild mode, which decides the color of the card to play the game.
The 108 cards in UNO Flex are the following:
- 19 Blue cards — 0 to 9
- 19 Green cards — 0 to 9
- 19 Red cards — 0 to 9
- 19 Yellow cards — 0 to 9
- 8 Draw Two cards — 2 each in blue, green, red, and yellow
- 8 Reverse cards — 2 each in blue, green, red, and yellow
- 8 Skip cards — 2 each in blue, green, red, and yellow
- 4 Wild cards
- 4 Wild Draw Four cards
UNO Reflex Cards Meaning
How To Play UNO Reflex
The game starts with the person to the left of the dealer playing a card by picking up the top card from the draw pile. On each person’s turn, match a card from your hand to the card on the top of the remaining cards by number, color, or symbol.
For example, if the card on the discard pile is a blue 4, you must put down a blue card or any color 4. Alternatively, you can put down a wild card. If you don’t have a card that matches the one on the DISCARD pile, you must take a card from the DRAW pile.
If the card you have picked up can be played, you may discard it on the same turn. On the condition that the card is unplayable, the game proceeds to the next player. You can also choose NOT to play a playable card from your hand, in which case, you must pick a card from the drawing pile.
Taking Turns
On each turn, after playing a card, you must push and release the Reflex Button. After a little sound, the unit displays one of the 4 colored lights, and when one color lights up, players then put down one card that matches that color and press again. If you or they were the one to complete the actions, play continues with the player next to you.
The play resumes until one player plays his all cards from his hands, When one player has only one card left, they are required to say “UNO” to notify the other players. If they forget to do so and end up caught by another player, they must pick up two cards as a penalty.
Winning
The game goes on until one player has no cards left behind, that member is regarded as the player with the highest score of the round based on the cards remaining in the other players’ hands. The first person to reach a certain, usually 500 number of points, wins the game.
Scoring Points
- All number cards (0-9) — Face Value
- Draw Two — 20 Points
- Reverse — 20 Points
- Skip — 20 Points
- Wild — 50 Points
- Wild Draw Four — 50 Points
After tallying the score for the round, if no player has reached 500 points, reshuffle the cards and start a fresh round.
